Personal websites are the best
Personal websites are the best
This is almost art
It's not something I had to think about a lot, because honestly my personal sensibilities are are even more vanilla than most corporate social media sites. Alas, he is of course absolutely right, people should be able to let their freak flag fly on their own websites and curators (human or semi-automated like webrings) should give them spaces to do so.
Trust me on the websites.
(Oh. And the sunscreen.)
Amazing follow-up to the viral AI rant from a few days back
This is amazing
Oh, interesting idea! The wavey underline reminds me of a spellchecker, though.
The whole problem space of social norms, audience etc. is super interesting, especially in spaces like the IndieWeb and the Fediverse which are by definition fractured and diverse.
I like all of this so very much
Absolutely. You should have a personal website, even if it is just a simple landing page.
I've looked at MT screenshots lately and remembered it fondly
I like this. It looks like a MovableType blog. (Which I think it still is.)
I like links
This is quite a list.
I think this is the last post I link to on the topic of Social Media bridges. It is a really good one, though.
I'm pretty sure that's it:
And maybe what’s missing now is simply connection.
The connections and communications moved to "Social Media" and will probably stay there.
Money ruins everything
Personal websites are the best
These days its all meme accounts
I shall write a post with a whole bunch of recommendations. For example for my own link blog.
I'm not using 11ty but I do like the idea of using raindrop and an API to feed a linkblog
I absolutely agree - all of this is way too complicated. And I do this stuff for a living.
Yes. You, too.
This is interesting. I didn't expect POSSE explained on The Verge in that much detail
Absolutely. I do miss the short time when people just used the things we now call social media for fun but maybe it is okay the way it is right now.
They're talking about wordpress.com, which is a bit mindbloggling.
Go do it!
I used to think that's a bummer. But it's actually quite freeing.
