The very last sentence sold me on the movie: "a marvellous sympathy for the whole cast" - which seems to be surprisingly uncommon in a lot of stories and media. I know it's not quite in the spirits of the times but I actually prefer watching (or reading) stories about people I can tell the author likes and that I can like as well.

What a fun DJ set

This is a good start and I just saw a few places that I missed when I was in KL last year. Triggers my wanderlust all over again.

Thaipusam is probably the religious holiday that I understand the least and Douglas here has been invited by a Malaysian Indian family to join them and be right in the middle of it.

It's pretty fascinating - and probably something that will happen more and more in the future.
