Sigh. Again.

Sigh. Again.
This video has been making the rounds lately and being right in the middle of this, it resonates quite a lot.
If you have seen memes of Tim continvoucly morging and didn't understand what has happened, the answer is of course: AI Slop. Thanks, Microsoft
Same here. I'll just hope that the hardware I have stays alive as long as possible and start a little savings bucket just in case.
Something tells me I will be thinking about this blog post a lot in the coming days, weeks, years.
Sigh.
"Trust is Being Manufactured Faster than It’s Earned"
I'm not sure what kind of person thinks this is a good idea. Ugh.
Very much this. And maybe start caring as well. This might be the main problem: many people just don't care.
Until now I just happily used the one provided by the framework I use (or was grumpy that I didn't get to use one, in the case of WordPress things) and never thought too deeply about how DI works. Turns out: it's actually not that complicated if it is very basic.
This is good! (And seems underreported?)
The sense of overwhelm I sometimes feel when trying to answer that question – and realising: I don’t know. I don’t even want to know.
Oh no.
It's getting worse and worse.
As we say in Germany: "Tja."
I'm not really sure the solution would work for me, but overall this sounds very plausible.
Christ, what an asshole.
Everybody links to and praises this article and for good reason. To oppose AI is to be human.
Very well-written collection of good points about "AI"
It does introduce hard to notice bugs 10x faster, though
It is. Stop it.
Who would have guessed.
When developers are allowed to use AI tools, they take 19% longer to complete issues—a significant slowdown that goes against developer beliefs and expert forecasts. This gap between perception and reality is striking: developers expected AI to speed them up by 24%, and even after experiencing the slowdown, they still believed AI had sped them up by 20%.
These people—broadly—are behaving like idiots.
Ah, yes. Idiots who think they're smart are really the most annoying. Sometimes it's okay to just be an idiot.
This is a very good talk
Oh, absolutely.
Leah is absolutely right about this.
Good god.
I love this approach. Let them choke on garbage.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I agree 100%
Very much so
Yeah, it's all a bit embarrassing. I still vastly prefer Apple stuff over the other ecosystems but who knows for how long. I already know I probably won't replace my Apple Watch when it gets old and/or breaks.
Who would have thought.
Yes, he is clearly right about all of this.
